Mobile Signal Testing Guide
Test and document mobile signal strength throughout your rental property
Why Test Mobile Signal?
Poor mobile signal can affect emergency calls, working from home, and daily communication. Testing helps you make informed decisions and provides evidence if signal quality was misrepresented.
How to Check Signal Strength
For iPhone Users:
- Open Phone app
- Dial *3001#12345#*
- Press Call
- Look for "rsrp0" or "RSRP" value
- This shows signal in dBm (e.g., -85)
For Android Users:
- Go to Settings
- About Phone → Status/Network
- Find "Signal Strength" or "Network Type and Strength"
- Look for dBm value (e.g., -85 dBm)
- Alternative: Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Signal bars are inconsistent between phones. Always use dBm values for accurate comparison.
Understanding dBm Values
Excellent-50 dBm or higher
Good-60 to -50 dBm
Fair-70 to -60 dBm
Poor-80 to -70 dBm
Very Poor-90 to -80 dBm

Remember: dBm is logarithmic. -60 dBm is 10x stronger than -70 dBm.
